Adults With Autism Recreational Events
A.W.A.R.E. Social Events are monthly gatherings designed to give adults with autism a welcoming, low-pressure space to socialize, build friendships, and connect with others in the community. Each month, we head to a different spot around the Greater Kansas City area — think mini golf, bowling, dining out, and more — so there’s always something new to look forward to.
Whether you’re a familiar face or joining us for the first time, come as you are. No pressure, no agenda — just a relaxed evening with good company.
Who It’s For
A.W.A.R.E. Social Events are open to adults with autism across the Greater Kansas City community. Family members and support staff are welcome to attend alongside participants. You don’t need to have attended before, and you don’t need to RSVP with a group — plenty of people come on their own and make new connections once they’re there.
What to Expect
Every event follows the same easy rhythm:
- When: One evening per month, typically starting at 6 PM
- Where: A different Kansas City-area venue each month — past outings have included Chicken and Pickle, Craft Putt, and BluHawk
- What: A casual, structured activity (mini golf, bowling, games) paired with plenty of unstructured time to talk and connect
- Cost: Free to attend, thanks to our presenting sponsor
RSVPs are required so we can plan headcounts and activities accordingly — space may be limited depending on the venue.
